Golden Gate Roos
June - October
The Golden Gate Roos represent the Bay Area at tournaments across the country, within the USAFL (United States Australian Football League).
Made up of players from the GGAFL Intra-Club Metro Competition (below), we come together to train, travel and compete against other cities around the USA. We field two teams, a Division 1 squad (2017 National Champions) and a Reserves (2017 Runners-up DR) squad. All USAFL teams must have a 50:50 ratio of Aussie to Non-Aussie players, and all player must qualify before playing at the National Tournament. |

Intra-club Metro Competition
July-August
Before coming together to play as Roos, we divide up into 5 inta-club teams to play competitive footy on Saturday's under the GGAFL (Golden Gate Australian Football League). We play at various fields around the Bay Area, usually slightly smaller than a full size oval, and field on average 16 players per side. At the end of the season the top teams battle it out in an exciting finals series.

Training & Socializing
Despite playing against each other on Saturdays, we train and socialize (a lot) as one club. Optional training sessions take place in SF, Oakland and Palo Alto (Stanford) on various nights during the week. Players are encouraged to attend one, but we understand that life the in Bay Area can be hectic. |
